QUALITY CONTROL STAFF
Family Paw is truly a family operation. All of our staff members love animals. It's those animals that help shape the way we operate our business. We promise to always treat your pets like they're one of our own. Take a moment to meet some of our Family Pets who serve as our "Quality Control" Staff Members that help make Family Paw a place your want to bring your pets.
Colonel is in charge of the entire operation. He's a 70 pound Appalachian Big Foot Basset Hound that has a strong opinion of how we run the shop. He personally sniffs every inch of the place, sleeps in every bed, and tests every treat. He wants to make sure all the accomodations are up to his standards. Colonel is a rescue from the Basset Rescue of Kentuckiana who loves car rides, trips to the dog park, and swimming. When he's not running Family Paw, he's at home wrasslin' with his basset brother Fred, and his parents Justin & Lisa Phelps. Colonel would like to personally invite you to Family Paw for a full tour but don't forget to rub on his belly!
Fred is a total lovebug. When he's not sleeping 22 hours a day, he's looking for someone to pet on him. Fred personally oversaw the fabrication and installation of our Self-Wash area. He's a basset that appreciates looking clean and dapper. He likes having a shiny coat and some fresh cologne on to impress the ladies in the play area. Fred came to the Phelps family as a rescue from Oklahoma. With help from the Utah Friends of Basset Hounds he was transported out of a kill shelter to his new family here in Henderson. He and his brother Colonel have been best buddies ever since. Fred would love for you to bring you pups down to Family Paw for a dip in our Self-Wash. He guarantees you'll love it.
Daisy is an 11 year old Pomeranian that serves as one of our Senior Advisors. Daisy was rescued in Ohio when she was four years old from a home that was unable to keep her. Weighing in at just four pounds, Daisy loves to be outside and take walks in the neighborhood or hike through Red Rock with her family. She loves squeaky toys and playing “keep away”. While at Family Paw where her Dad Michael MacLeod & Grandma Brenda work, she often demands that her theme song "Diva" by Beyonce be played while she gets her spa treatments. She invites others to come try one of the spa packages she created -- especially for those divas that love the finer things in life.
Sawyer joined the Joffe family from Wagging Tails Rescue here in Las Vegas. We think he is a Chihuahua & Dachshund mix, or Chiweenie, but we aren’t 100 percent sure of that. He never ceases to amaze everyone with his energy but also with his unconditional love. The thing that stands out about Sawyer more than anything is certainly his impressive under bite! It is the defining characteristic of his always smiling face. Sawyer is a very playful puppy. He can play ball for hours without stopping, and is getting very good at catching the ball without a bounce. Sawyer has helped with making sure the Family Paw play area is a high energy and friendly place for dogs to socialize! He doesn't want any pups going home with any gas left in the tank. He invites you to bring your buddies to spend the day playing with him and his friends.
Alvin is a male Chihuahua Terrier Mix that loves to run laps around the furniture when he's excited. He gets especially worked up during Arizona Cardinal Football games. Alvin came to the Blackford family as a gift to Aiden from his Grandma in Phoenix. Alvin, Aiden, and Phoenix are the 3 best friends that anyone could have. Aiden named his buddy after "Alvin and the Chipmunks" so when he wanted him he could scream out "Allllvvviiinnn!!!" Alvin will be bringing his energy to the play area at Family Paw. He'd love for you to bring your dogs over to hang with him and his brother.
Phoenix is a female Boxer from here in Vegas. She is a huge fan of WWE wrestling. Her, Aiden, and Alvin often have WrestleMania matches after school each day. She jumps off chairs and does frog splashes. Phoenix and Aiden have often been known to curl up and nap together. When Aiden has to go out to town, he wants Phoenix to have premium accomodations. Aiden and Phoenix helped design our lodging area so that his best buddies would be happy and comfortable while he's away.
Grover is a 4 year old Yorkie that spends a lot of time hanging out at Family Paw where his Grandparents work. He comes from a big family -- as he's cousins with Colonel and Fred. They spend hours playing. He was an only child until his little sister Libby came on the scene. Now he follows her around cleaning up any food she might happen to drop on the floor. When he's not running for his life from the crazy basset hounds or babysitting his sister, you can find Grover parked on the top of a couch watching Food Network. Grover would love if you'd join him at Family Paw for a playdate. He promises you will love it!
